50 is a joke. He lacks the talent that Eminem and Dre have in one pinky toe.

Rap into Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame is a big joke itself.

Whether or not 50 cent is a good rapper is not the question.

Whether or not he should be in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame is.

And the answer is a resounding NO.

I don't see why a rap artist couldn't be inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Only people who know shit about the Hall of Fame would make the suggestion that a hiphopartist can't be inducted. Why not? Since they have inducted artists that were active in diverse genres like reggae, pop, soul, funk, metal, punk, doowop, countryrock, jazzrock and every other genre of popular music, there's no reason why they wouldn't induct a hiphopartist. If they would induct 50 Cent is a completely different question.

No way should he be considered.

Posted by luke on Thursday, 05.31.07 @ 08:36am

Why the hell does he have a better chance than the rest of the bands for this year?

A lot of you people are completely ignorant. I've read over 100 comments on this site that say "if you're not rock & roll then you shouldn't be in the hall of fame." EVERY person that has posted that is not only ignorant, but obviously illiterate, because if you could read, you'd see names on the list that range from Mahalia Jackson (Gospel) to U2 (rock) to Stevie Wonder (R&B) to Billie Holliday (jazz), Grandmaster Flash (rap), Dolly Parton (country) and beyond.

The R&R Hall of Fame is for musicians of ANY and ALL genres that have made an impact on music.

Now, should 50 Cent be inducted? The answer to that is a resounding HELL no!

I'm sorry he got shot nine times, but the guy can't rap, he's selling himself out. I don't care if he's popular, it's all about talent.

induct a decent rapper from that time, like Dizzee Rascal.

Does that fact that he may have taken steroids keep him out of the RRHoF? I see that Mark McGuire is not getting voted in to the BBHoF. Do the same principles apply here?

"Does that fact that he may have taken steroids keep him out of the RRHoF?"

I would hope that the fact that he is a god-awful rapper might keep him out.

Another well thought out, thought provoking reason to be inducted....GEEZ!!!!!!

You've obviously never heard of the "25 years from their original release" rule. 50 Cent will probably be working at a car wash on his 25th anniversary...

rap should not be in the RNR hall of fame.

This guy blows nuts.

No F'n way

50 & Kanye both are no-loads. F them both.

Posted by deemand on Tuesday, 06.2.09 @ 09:44am

Their are alot of bias people. In the history of rock their isnt a reasonable doubt in my mind that a rapper desrve to be in the rock hall of fame. Any true rock and roll fan or music fan recoginzes great talent. Although i dont think that 50 cent deserve the hallo of fame. Certaintly give it to someone such as Eminem, Kanye West Pharcyde who are up for awards in the next 10 or 20 years

Influence: Yeah, I guess 50 Cent has had influence on rap, though a small amount. 10
Innovation: nope
Commercial: 50 Cent has sold atleast 20- 30 million records, to be on the safe side I'll give him a 15.
Critical: 50 Cent's generally respected by critics. 15

40, Nahhh.

Posted by GFW on Monday, 10.17.11 @ 14:16pm

While there are some rappers who should be in the Hall, 50 Cent isn't one of them.

Posted by Andrew on Thursday, 05.30.13 @ 17:29pm

He looks like a monkey..his face. No, he isn't on the same level as Kanye West, Lil Wayne, or Jay Z.

Posted by El_Jesus on Tuesday, 05.6.14 @ 17:00pm

El_Jesus, Lil Wayne is a hack. Jay-Z and Kanye West are way better musically, althrough Kanye's music these days is all about how cool he thinks he is.
